Frugal Living Friday: Stretching out the life of your workbooks

Welcome to Frugal Living Friday! Each week I will feature a tip that can help us stretch our budget and live more frugally! If you have a tip that you want shared on Frugal Living Friday, let me know and you could become a guest blogger for a day.

I saw this idea somewhere in blogland awhile ago. I don't remember where. But I love it! Workbooks for kids can get much more use than they do. Instead of letting your kids do all the pages and then it's done, you put all the pages of the workbook into page protectors. Then put the pages into a binder. The kids can use dry erase markers on the page protectors, then wipe off! You can use your workbook pages again and again! Isn't it a great idea? It works for me! It's also fun for the kids. My 3 year old loves it.

This is a great idea!! I have always used a page protector but just make them move it from one page to the next.

I also use this for church with the LDS Friend magazine fun pages. It keeps the kids busy and quiet but haiving spiritual fun at the same time.

Wow! That is such a great idea! I hate paying for several workbooks, only to have them used up in a couple of sittings. Clever, clever!!!

I do it with the Friend magazine too Julene! :) I went through the past 2 years of issues I had and put all the fun activities into a binder with sheet protectors. Now Sunday fun can be re-done again and again! Thanks for sharing.

I LOVE the idea....I never even thought of this. I'm going to do it - my kids will love it and so will my pocketbook :)

Awesome idea. I have an almost three year old who is dying for some new things to do. This is it! Have you found that any sheet protectors/markers work better than others?

I just use the sheet protectors from Costco. I love buying them in a huge pack! They are a great price too. 200+ for only $8 something. As for markers, I have also just used what I have on hand. I believe they are Expo brand. They have worked fine.
