Cheap cheese at Albertsons

If you are looking for a good way to use your Albertson's doublers before they expire Tuesday night, use them on cheese! These printable coupons are available to Utah and Idaho through Coupons.com. Here is the breakdown:

Albertson's brand cheese, 2 lb $5.49
Use $1/1 printable coupon
Use a doubler
Final Price: $3.49 for 2lbs of cheese!

Most times I get doublers I use them on the cheese. That is a killer price. Did you know you can freeze cheese? Just grate it first. Then the consistency won't change when it thaws.

Double coupons @ Albies = free Lysol wipes!

Did you get doublers for Albertson's in yesterday's paper?

While at Albertson's this afternoon I saw that the Lysol wipes, 35 count, are on sale 2/$4. Pair the sale price with the $1/1 coupon from the 7/12 SS insert & the doublers and they are free! Just pay sales tax. I bought three containers this afternoon and paid .18 cents total!

You could also get the Lysol toilet bowl cleaner, also on sale 2/$4. Use the .50/1 coupon from the same insert and get the cleaner for only $1 after doubles.

This is another reason I LOVE LOVE double coupons at Albertson's. GREAT deals!

Kraft promo update

Thanks to Utah Deal Diva for this update on the Albertsons/Kraft promo.

I spoke with my contact at Albertson's and she gave me more information regarding the Kraft Promo:Here is the correct address you need to mail the rebate form & receipt to:

Kraft Foods-SuperValu Back-to-School MIR Offer #511-5
P.O. Box 753854
El Paso, TX 88575-3854

If you already mailed in your rebate, the Rebate center in Ohio has been instructed to send them back to the Return address, which is Albertson's corporate in Idaho. They will then forward them along to the Texas address. Please feel free to call 1-877-932-7948 with any concerns.

There are over 1,900 UPC codes that supposedly trigger the $5 catalina & rebate form, however with as many people as we've seen NOT have the forms print, I'm just not sure they're all working! If your $5 coupon or rebate offer does not print, instead of calling Catalina marketing, please call Albertson's at 1-877-932-7948. They want to be kept informed of any issues shoppers are having. They will help you get the $5 coupon and proper rebate form.

She explained to me how this was (hopefully) going to work, and quite honestly, it's a mess. All rebate requests WILL be honored, even if you purchased some of the items not listed on the Kraft Shopping list here. However, it's not clear yet how that will all work and how long it will take. I highly recommend keeping copies of everything you submit and if 6-8 weeks goes by and you still haven't seen anything, call 1-877-932-7948 to at least make Albertson's aware that you haven't received your rebate.

Keeping all this in mind here are my suggestions:
  1. Shop off the Kraft list. I know, there are less products, but I feel that with all the issues this promo is already having, I want to make my rebate as simple as possible to process.
  2. Make copies of everything before mailing it in. (This really should be done anytime you submit a rebate!)
  3. In those records, make note of the day you mailed it in. Also, mark on a calendar what date you should receive your rebate by.
  4. Keep this Albertson's number 1-877-932-7948 in your records so you can easily access it should you receive a rejection letter for your rebate.

Again, these are just my suggestions. Everyone I've spoken with regarding this promo has been very helpful. Yet the bottom line is, there was some serious miscommunication that occurred at some point and it's obvious this promo is problematic! I am choosing the safe route- I'll post some "safe" scenarios shortly!

Important info regarding the Kraft $20 rebate

Thanks to Utah Deal Diva for this info.

I've received several emails regarding Albertson's $5 catalina coupons and the mail-in-rebate not printing so I did some research. I've been on the phone all day and while I don't yet have all the answers, I do have some info that might be helpful to anyone wanting to go shopping.

I'm working with several individuals right now at Albertson's and Kraft in trying to figure this out. They are all concerned and are trying to get to the bottom of this! If you've had issues, feel free to leave a comment on this post- they'll see it!

Three pieces of critical information:

Albertson's advertised several items as being part of the
Kraft promo that are not on the "official" Kraft rebate list.

Depending on how your store's receipt shows coupons,
the $25 total could be BEFORE or AFTER coupons!

There are 2 versions of the rebate address floating around
and we still don't know which one is correct.

I spoke with several individuals at Kraft and they confirmed that they WILL NOT honor a $20 rebate request if any of the items purchased are non-participating items.

The list below reflects the participating items and sizes. You can also print a copy here. I suggest taking a copy with you and very carefully make sure you get the correct items listed.

Here is a list of items that are on the Albertson's ad, but are unknown whether or not you'll receive the $20 mail-in rebate if you purchase them:

  • Nabisco Go Packs, $1
  • Kraft Chips Ahoy cookies, 16 oz variety
  • Kraft Grated Parmesan cheese, any variety
  • Velveeta 1lb or 2 lb blocks
  • Kraft Jell-O or Pudding, boxed variety (only 6-packs included)
  • Nabisco Honey Maid Bees, Smores or Morning Sticks variety crackers
  • Kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese Dinner or Deluxe Macaroni & cheese, (anything over 7.25 oz)
  • Planters Mixed Nuts (only varieties 9.25 oz and over are included)
  • A-1 Steak Sauce, any varieties
  • General Food Intl Coffee Drink Mix

$25 Total, Before or After Coupons: If your store displays all the coupons redeemed at the bottom of the receipt, then you will be able to submit your rebate for $25 BEFORE coupons. However, if your store displays the coupon right after the line-item amount, then you will have to add up to $25 AFTER coupons.

I think most of us at least here in Utah should still be able to do the $25 before coupons. The only store around here that shows the coupon after the line item is Target.

Rebate address: There are 2 different addresses right now- one for Texas, the other for Ohio.

Kraft promo at Albertson's

Another good sale at Albies this week! The Kraft promo and Honey Bunches of Oats promos. I paid $16.66 out of pocket today, plus I got a $5 catalina back and will get back $20 from the Kraft rebate!

GO HERE for the printable shopping list, printable coupons and info on the sale.

GO HERE for the online ad. GO HERE for info on the Kraft Rebate.

Here is how I did it.

For this Post cereal, buy 4 and get $4 off instantly. It makes the cereal $1.50 a box. Add in the coupons from SS 7/26 insert and it makes the cereal $1 a box. I also got the HBO Pecan Clusters and used my $2/1 printable and paid .50 for it. PLUS, starting Friday you can get more for your money when you buy Post Selects! Here is a catalina offer for that. Note it is only for the Post Selects and NOT for the Honey Bunches of Oats.

Post Selects cereal
purchase between 8/14 - 9/6 (Starts FRIDAY!)
Buy (2) & Get $1 OYNSO
Buy (3) & Get $2
Buy (4) or More & Get $3

Then there is the Kraft promo. Purchase $25 of participating items and get a $5 catalina back, plus a $20 rebate form. I bought:

8 Planters Trail Mixes (my store had $1/2 peelies on the display)
2 Digornio pizzas
4 Jellos
2 Ritz Bitz (for my son's Kindergarten class snack)

Total came to $25 plus tax. I had $6.50 in manufacture coupons, which brought my total to $20. I got the $5 catalina back, plus the $20 rebate form to send in! Awesome!

I also purchased additional items as you can see in the photo. I bought everything in one transaction and I used $15 in catalinas from last week's sale to help my out of pocket today.

Shopping Smart

I was back at Albertson's just now getting some Ragu (YAY..finally! I ended up paying around .30 cents or so per jar) and other sale items when I was confronted by a lady. She asked me about the sale and I told her how it worked. (See my post below for sale details).

She then told me how her daughter is in management and says "these coupon ladies come in and go crazy and we lose a lot of money. But the coupon companies keep making coupons so what do we do?"

Okay...Lesson #1: Albertson's (and any store) is reimbursed 100% for each manufacturer coupon plus .08 cents. They don't lose money. If you want to know what happens to your coupons after you use them & how stores get reimbursed, check out this informative article.

Lesson #2: This is smart shopping. Not silly stuff. Why wouldn't you want to get Ragu for .30 (or less) per bottle, Skippy for .63 cents and All detergent for .75 cents? Me...personally YES I do! I don't want to pay full retail price! Why would you?

Lesson #3: Albertson's LOVES coupon ladies! They love our business. As long as we all play by the rules they love us. And...they sell MORE because we are buying more. Remember....they get reimbursed for ALL those coupons we are using! I was even told by a stock person this morning he wished they knew ahead of time the coupons that matched up with this sale so they could have been more prepared. They WANT to help us!

Oh, and in case you are wondering I spent $10 out-of-pocket on my trip just now and got back $16 in catalinas. WHOO HOO!

Why I love Albertson's

One comment I get from people all the time when I tell them I do most of my shopping at Albertson's is "Really? How can you do that?"

Simple! Albertson's has awesome sales....and I combine that with coupons and I get stuff free or dirt cheap! Here is an example from the sale going on this week. Care to guess what I paid for everything pictured here?

I paid $13.92 out of pocket.

BUT...then I got $17 in catalinas back! So I got paid $3.08 to buy this stuff! Can Walmart or Winco do that for you? I think NOT!

Catalina's are coupons that print at the register after your purchase. The promo this week is when you purchase $30 worth of participating items you get $15 in catalina's back to use on your next purchase. So the $15 is essentially like cash. You can use them on your next purchase of $30 and so forth, and keep getting the $15 in catalina's back. See what I mean?

In the purchase I made this morning above, I used $16 in catalina's from a previous purchase, plus I had $4.70 in coupons to use. AND, I got another $17 in catalina's when I was done. SWEET. I got the $15 from the promo purchase, plus $2 in catalina's from the Skippy. That is an additional promo running until 8/11. Find more details on current catalina promos HERE.

Starting to see why I LOVE Albertson's? You should be in love too!

So far on this sale I have not gotten any Ragu sauce (except the one bottle in this photo) which is what I REALLY want. I got up early today and none came in their shipment last night. Sooo...be on the lookout for Ragu for me! I want to stock up. But otherwise I have spent only $40 on $320 worth of items! That includes Bounty paper towels and Charmin. WOW!

For details on the sale this week, HERE is the printable shopping list. These details are good for the Northwest Region: Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. There might be slight differences in ads for produce and meat but the promo should be the same.

HERE is information like current catalina promos and additional printables.

Albertson's 8/5-8/11

If you haven't noticed by now I am not posting regular shopping lists on my blog. It was taking too much time, and you can find those same shopping lists on 20 other blogs out there. I figure why take the time to copy and paste? It wasn't worth it.

BUT....I will post about Pinching Your Pennies. They are the original website for posting grocery & drugstore store lists, over 5 years running! I have been with them from almost the beginning and they started me on my couponing fascination.

Albertson's ad for this next week is up! The list is made from the Utah ad, but it generally applies to not just Utah, but also Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The differences will be slight and apply to things like dairy, meat, and produce.

Check out the Albertson's thread in the forums on PYP. You will find unadvertised deals they post and discussion on the sale, and answers to questions too!

My store is only giving rain checks for the single item price, not the price after the promo. So you need to find them in stock.

SWEET deal on tp and paper towels at Albertson's

There is a SWEET deal at Albertson's this week on tp and paper towels. I threw in the Wet Ones to get my total up to the promo amount, and we use them anyway.

I paid a total of $3 for everything here.

There is actually a better deal when you buy Playtex cleaning gloves instead of the Wet Ones. If you did the Playtex gloves instead you would actually get everything for FREE! Here is how it works:

Purchase 2 Sparkle Paper Towels Single Roll for $1 each
Purchase 2 Angel Soft Bath Tissue 4 pack for $2.50 each
Purchase 3 Playtex Disposable Gloves 10 pack $1.00

Save $3 instantly on your purchase (see printable shopping list link below for details)

Use (2) $2/1 Angel Soft & Sparkle printable coupons HERE
Use (3) Playtex Disposable Gloves, any $1/1 (10-30-09) SS-5/3

Final price is FREE!!!

I just substituted the Wet Ones instead, and used these printable coupons .We will use them, plus my store was already out of Playtex gloves.

Check the shopping list from PYP to see other cheap options for substitutions. Basically all you need to do is get your total up to $10 before coupons and tax to get the $3 off instantly when you purchase the promo items.

Go get a SWEET deal!

SWEET clearance deal

I went to Albertson's to get the deal in the above post, when I saw on the clearance rack they had this Jet Dry Turbo Dry rinse agent on clearance for $1 each.

I used this coupon (Finish Jet-Dry rinse Agent or Turbo Dry, any .40/1 (8-2-09) SS-6/7) to get each one for only .60 cents each! Too bad there are no doublers right now, but .60 cents each is still a SWEET deal!

It pays to check the clearance racks! Another reason to always carry your coupons with you. You never know when you might run across an unexpected deal.

There is a smokin' hot deal at Albertson's for Dr. Pepper lovers! I am a former Dr. Pepper lover myself. I actually still love it but am no longer drinking soda so alas...I am not getting this deal.

BUT...for those of you that want it, here is the scoop!

Purchase four 12 packs of Dr. Pepper. Purchasing four packs will come to $10.58, plus tax. THEN, you will get back a $10 catalina to use towards your next purchase! Keep rolling the catalina on repeated purchases for Dr. Pepper and you will only pay tax.

Thanks, Tiffani for telling me about this deal, even if I can't buy some. :) :)

Baked Lays for .79 a bag!

When I was at Albertson's Saturday night doubling coupons, I noticed their Extreme Buy for this week are Baked Lays and Sun Chips for $2.79 a bag. There were tear pads on the display for $1/1 bag. I thought $1.79 a bag was good...but then I used my doublers to make it only .79 cents a bag! I bought several bags for our upcoming family reunions and BBQs.

Check your store to see if they have the tearpad coupons with your display. It's a great deal! The doublers for this week end tomorrow night.

Want to know what current catalina offers there are? Albertson's Smiths, etc. are stores that offer catalina's (those coupons that print at the register when you check out). PYP is putting together a list of current catalina offers out there. Check out that thread HERE. Keep in mind these offers might vary by area.
