It is definitely the most expensive ingredient in this jam but it doesn't seem like an item that goes on sale (it was $2.99 at Fry's).Lindsay Riggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968925395241976095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2641176596814317636.post-10280344231449230532009-04-16T16:31:00.000-06:002009-04-16T16:31:00.000-06:00this is the one I use and I LOVE it!!this is the one I use and I LOVE it!!rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16729497901279244311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2641176596814317636.post-83586542437963698512009-04-14T16:07:00.000-06:002009-04-14T16:07:00.000-06:00another good idea for containers that I gound from...another good idea for containers that I gound from my MIL is empty peanut butter jars! They were regular pickles, though, not spiced or anything. Maybe that is the difference.

Paula, yes, it is not as sweet this way. But I like it better personally. I hate putting so much sugar into the jam. It turned out well, but it is not as sweet as the pectin version (probably because it calls for less sugar!).
